The Legacy of Issei Women and the Japanese YWCA

Join us for an evening of storytelling, music, and dance exploring the history of Japantown’s YWCA, now home to Nihonmachi Little Friends preschool.

GenRyu Arts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that builds community through the arts. Our programs include:

  • Taiko, shamisen, and odori classes for children and adults
  • Japan Week and other public festivals
  • Studio Gen art shows and workshops
